Thunder Before Thunder 9-Campbellsburg, KY
Product Demo-April 15th & 16th 2010

Last week, I was delighted to attend the Advanced Technique Fireworks demo “Thunder Before Thunder 9”. Thursday night was the 1.4g Consumer (Class C) demo and Friday was the 1.3g Display (Class B) demo. I made many observations of the products and assigned a rating for each item. In order to be objective, remember that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. In my review you will find that I list no items that I rank below a 7 on a scale of 1-10. A shell or cake that is ranked a 7 is a very good item. Ranks of 9 or 10 are reserved for only the highest grade of product, and I don’t give out 10’s very often. I have my own likes and dislikes in regards to fireworks. May 16th-Hooser Horse Park South Of Franklin, Indiana in the Camp Atterbury.

Directions: I cannot post a Google map because the park is not recognized by any town. This is an enormous wilderness and military park that hosts many events including the Hoosier Horse Park. I need some help raising funds to have the swap meet and shoot on Saturday night. I figure we need to raise about $500 to support the swap meet. The site has gone through some changes over the past week including a major upgrade to our Auction software. Please take the time to view the auctions and notice that there are new items up for sale. These are fund raising auctions to support our activities for our upcoming swap meet this spring and the Midwest Fireworks Festival in the fall. Your participation is greatly appreciated. Here is an outline of some of the major changes for 2008:

? Our new membership drive has started and is retroactive to July, 2007. Make a small donation and support our site!
? We now offer store fronts for a one year period. You can now have a 10 item store for free! A 100 item store is a flat rate of $50/yr. (That’s $4/Month)
? All auctions will continue to be free of charge.
? There will be a swap meet this spring probably the week of 5/10 or 5/17. I will post the directions and final date on the home page.
? We are making plans to participate in the Midwest Fireworks Festival in the fall with another mini “Superstring” of crackers.
? Upgrades both the Auction and Home page will continue throughout the year.
? You can now advertise your Items Wanted on the Auction via our new software package.
? There are some new photos on the home page along with some new topics of discussion.

Remember that this is a fully interactive site. The home page is designed to function with your input. We welcome new topics of discussion, photos, articles, reviews of fireworks etc. Please come and visit soon. Let me know if you have special requests for content or Auctions and don’t be shy. My interest in collecting firecracker packs started in the late 80’s. Prior to that, I was just reliving some of my early childhood days by purchasing class ‘C’ fireworks such as firecrackers, Roman candles, bottle rockets, fountains, multi shot repeaters and anything else that made noise. It was at this time that I realized reliving my childhood days was not as cheap as it used to be. Well, that started me shopping around for the best deals in nearby states.

Good collectables are of the people, by the people, and for the people. By this definition, coins, paper money, postage stamps, stock certificates, and the like fail as collectables because they are not products of the general public, but of corporations or governments. Gemstones, nuggets, and other natural treasures are eliminated as good collectables by their scarcity as well as their cost. The same goes for the one-of-a-kind, artificial treasures we call works of art. Some fossils, artifacts, meteorites, minerals, and other hard evidence of earlier ages are not costly, but they are also not popular and thus not good collectables.
