Report On The Swap Meet
The Swap Meet went off in good order on Saturday the 16th at 9 AM sharp. We had people driving and flying in from as far away as Boston and Virginia. Attendance was light but very active. There were lots of collectables and I will be putting up some photos soon in the gallery. I want to thank all those who attended and especially those that contributed to the auction and donated toward the site. We raised enough money to pay for some significant improvements to the website. Over the next couple of months you will see some major changes to the site.
The swap meet concluded in the late afternoon and we went out to the shoot site and shot off all sorts of crackers, ground bombs, rockets, cakes and shells. Needless to say we made quite a bit of noise. I was particularly impressed with some of the Class C rockets and shells that people brought. There were some Titanium Salute rockets that really packed a punch and some Artillery Shells that could have been Class B. We had a “Shoot The Can” contest and the results are posted below in the forums. I need some help identifying a few particularly good crackers and will be posting photos of them for identification. I have posted the results in a topic below and welcome your comments.
It was suggested that next year we host the Swap Meet at a location where we can also shoot so I am on the lookout for a new meeting area. Thanks again to all who made this happen and I look forward to next year.
